Fluorine – F2

fluorine here  – or  difluoro  – ( F2 ) you can find basic information about: properties, health effects, detection devices and systems –  fluorine gas detector  – and suitable respiratory protective equipment (gas mask or B with gas filter powered air purifying respirator).

Fluorine (F2) properties

Fluorine ( F2 ) – difluoro – also known as – is used mainly in the chemical industry as an organic or inorganic synthesis agent. Also in the nuclear industry uranium hexafluoride It is used to prepare and produce chemical or nuclear weapons (sarin gas or atomic bombs). Freons It is used to prepare and refrigerate many fluorinated gases (refrigeration systems and air conditioners), such as chemical or nuclear weapons (sarin gas or atomic bombs).

Effects of fluoride on health

Fluorine ( F2 ) is yellowish – almost invisible – and detectable from 0.02 ppm onwards. It has a repulsive odor. this gas very toxic when inhaled (R26) and is corrosive – May cause burns to skin and eyes (R35). Since fluorine is a combustion agent, it can ignite a fire when it comes into contact with flammable material (R8). It reacts with almost every mineral and organic substance, making it one of the most reactive chemical elements does .
