Hydrogen Bromide – HBr
This page describes hydrogen bromide (HBr). basic information about it, its physical properties, effects on health, detection equipment ( hydrogen bromide gas detector ) and appropriate respiratory protection equipment (gas mask or with combined B-P3 filter It offers a powered air purifying respirator).
Hydrogen bromide (Hbr) properties
hydrogen bromide It is used in pharmaceutical, chemical, electronics, metallurgy, mining, petroleum, polymer industry and many other fields. It is used to produce alkyl bromide, as well as as a reducing agent or catalyst for alkylation and oxidation reactions.

Health effects of hydrogen bromide
hydrogen bromide ( HBr ), is a colorless gas but has an unpleasant odor. When there is moisture in the air, the gas becomes smoky. On short-term exposure, hydrogen bromide is irritating and corrosive to the skin, eyes and respiratory tract. There is a link between hydrogen bromide and the risk of laryngeal cancer with long-term or chronic exposure.
