Portable\u00a0single gas detector,<\/strong>\u00a0It is a Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) designed to detect a single gas. It is compact and lightweight, and can be placed at respiratory tract level without impeding the user's mobility. It is suitable for industrial operating situations such as explosive gas detectors (explosimeters) as well as for the tertiary sector, for example as CO2 detectors or oxygen deficiency detectors (oxygen meters).<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Once it is opened we can no longer turn it off.\u00a0Disposable gas detector<\/strong>\u00a0It works continuously for two years. It is as simple and effective as a traditional (non-disposable) single gas detector. The biggest advantage of the disposable gas detector is that it requires almost no maintenance. On the other hand, after two years the device shuts down permanently and becomes unusable.<\/p>\n

Disposable gas detector<\/strong>\u00a0It is\u00a0mainly used as an oxygen meter (oxygen deficiency detector), hydrogen sulfide (H2S) detector or carbon monoxide (CO) detector. However, they can also be used for ammonia (NH3) or nitrogen dioxide (NO2). To evaluate concentrations of other gases it is necessary to switch to a non-disposable gas detection device.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

This personal protective equipment is battery-operated or rechargeable and has more elaborate functions than a disposable detector, for example archiving measured concentrations and alarms. This security device has a much longer lifespan than a disposable detector. It therefore requires daily crash testing, regular calibration and periodic checks.<\/p>\n

Conventional single gas detectors can measure concentrations of a wide variety of gases such as explosive gases\u00a0,\u00a0volatile organic compounds (VOC)\u00a0, refrigerant gases (\u00a0freons\u00a0) or toxic gases\u00a0: CH2O, CL2, CLO2, CO, CO2, ETO (C2H4O), H2, H2O2, HBr, HCN, HCl, H2S, HF, HNO3, N2H4, NO, NO2, NH3, O2 (lack of oxygen), O3, PCl3, PH3, POCl3 or SO2.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
