They are usually associated with a gas detection unit to manage control systems and provide daily protection of the installation 24 hours a day, seven days a week.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"main-title mf-initial\" data-was-processed=\"true\">\n<div data-content-type=\"text\" data-appearance=\"default\" data-element=\"main\" data-was-processed=\"true\">\n<p><span>Most fixed gas detection systems for toxic and flammable gases require connection to a gas detection controller.\u00a0<\/span><strong><span>4-20 mA linear output<\/span><\/strong><span>\u00a0has and\u00a0<strong>ATEX compatible. A more advanced fixed gas detector may also be equipped with a digital display, alarm relays or digital communication.\u00a0<\/strong><strong>For each type of gas<\/strong>\u00a0guaranteeing the accuracy and frequency of measurements\u00a0<strong>a specific sensor technology<\/strong>\u00a0(Learn more about\u00a0sensor technologies).<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<h2 data-content-type=\"heading\" data-appearance=\"default\" data-element=\"main\"><span>Flammable gas detector (explosive meter)<\/span><\/h2>\n<div data-content-type=\"text\" data-appearance=\"default\" data-element=\"main\" data-was-processed=\"true\">\n<p><strong><span>flammable gas detector<\/span><\/strong><span>\u00a0(natural gas, LPG, hydrocarbons, solvents, alcohols) constitute the largest part of gas detection. A fixed gas detector for flammable gas can be used in almost every industry: industries with SEVESO or COMAH plants, chemical, petrochemical as well as\u00a0<\/span><span>gas detection in boiler rooms<\/span><span>\u00a0in the tertiary sector such as. There are two main monitoring technologies depending on the targeted flammable gas to be detected:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><span>catalytic sensor<\/span><\/strong><span>\u00a0: sensor technology used for almost every flammable gas. This solution is highly efficient for monitoring natural gas, LPG, hydrocarbons, solvents and even some volatile compounds.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><strong><span>Infrared Sensor<\/span><\/strong><span>\u00a0: This technology should be preferred for every sector where there is a constant residual presence of flammable gases (refineries, paint or solvent factories, distilleries\u2026).<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<h2 data-content-type=\"heading\" data-appearance=\"default\" data-element=\"main\"><span>toxic gas detector<\/span><\/h2>\n<div data-content-type=\"text\" data-appearance=\"default\" data-element=\"main\" data-was-processed=\"true\">\n<p><span>As the use and production of highly toxic products in industry becomes stronger, the dangers to goods (explosion risk) and people (poisoning risk) also increase. Because they are volatile, they can easily spread into the atmosphere. Therefore, to be protected, they must be detected and measured with a fixed VOC monitor.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span>VOC explosive mixtures<\/span><\/strong><span>\u00a0before concentrations reach an explosive level (tens of thousands of parts per million).\u00a0<\/span><strong><span>they are very toxic<\/span><\/strong><span>\u00a0.\u00a0In fact, explosiveness levels are set at ten ppm. Various technologies are available for VOC detectors depending on the risk to be monitored:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span>For toxicity detection\u00a0<strong>photo-ionization lamp (PID lamp)<\/strong>\u00a0or\u00a0<\/span><strong><span>semiconductor sensor (expressed in ppm).<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong><span>Catalytic sensor for explosiveness detection<\/span><\/strong><span>\u00a0or\u00a0<\/span><strong><span>infrared absorption\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><strong><span>sensor<\/span><\/strong><span>\u00a0(where available) expressed as %LEL.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<h2 data-content-type=\"heading\" data-appearance=\"default\" data-element=\"main\"><span>Refrigerant gas detector (freons)<\/span><\/h2>\n<div data-content-type=\"text\" data-appearance=\"default\" data-element=\"main\" data-was-processed=\"true\">\n<p><span>Halogenated hydrocarbons (CFCs and HCFCs), alkenes (HFOs), and almost every refrigerant are regulated under specific legislation that limits (or prohibits) their use. The use of chillers also requires a monitoring system \u2013 usually\u00a0<\/span><span>a fixed gas detector for freons<\/span><span>\u00a0. There are two main measurement technologies for Freons:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><span>semiconductor sensor<\/span><\/strong><span>\u00a0: The most commonly used technology for monitoring freons<\/span><\/li>\n<li><strong><span>Infrared absorption sensor<\/span><\/strong><span>\u00a0: A very sensitive but very expensive technology used for some freons<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><span>Gas\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><strong><span>Detects<\/span><\/strong><span>\u00a0offers many services for fixed gas detection in certain regions, such as on-site installation, installation, commissioning and calibration of gas detectors.
